Makeup and a Magazine

By: Scarlett Maikish

Makeup, a magazine, all these things have a similarity to me.

One gets judged and one gets used

to cover up all the things she gets hated on for and vice versa

Makeup is used to hide your flaws

but makeup can't hide the way you feel inside.

Trust me I've tried

A magazine's supposed to show off your beauty

but magazines don't define your individuality

That’s what makes me, me

it's ok to not look like other people

And its ok to have flaws

It's ok to not feel like you drop everyone’s jaws

But makeup can't fix you and a magazine shows much more than just a face

It shows who you are, what you are, and how you are.

Beauty comes in many different forms

This is what the world tries to hide

is that beauty is on the inside

The outside is the cover, and is what we choose to show for all to see

And the inside is what some people don’t like to see

Some people change themselves to make their story sound better

And some people change because they don't know any better

But I can't change the way I look

And I can't change the story of my book

But I can change how people see me

But I will never change what is right about me
